Well done Joe and team.

I honestly wish there were more mechanics out there that could gain this reputation.

Extremely polite, friendly, and knowledgeable staff. Very professional. Don't let the "hard to find" location put you off. These guys know their stuff AND are competitively priced. Great job!

Tech-Center all the way! I will never go to another shop again. They came through UNDER price and AHEAD of schedule. I first went to Midas who quoted me $900. However, when I took it in they called and said it would be $2,800. yikes! I read Tech-Center's reviews and thought I would give them a try. Not only are they best on the island, they are the best mechanics I've used in a long time anywhere.

I go to their Schofield Barracks location and its the only place on Oahu that I'll take my cars to!! Especially if you're military! Joe and his team are polite, professional, friendly and fast! Don't waste you're time with someone else like Firestone, these guys will get the job done faster, cheaper and treat you with respect. I would recommend them to anyone!

I've been here twice now and I must say that I've never dealt with a more honest and professional mechanic and staff. Joe and his staff are always willing to go the extra mile and when something genuinely doesn't need doing, they tell you that.

On a Thursday night, 9/21, we had our vehicle towed to Nissan and found we needed our alternator replaced. They were charging about 1000 for that repair. Friday I called around to see if I could find anything cheaper and found Tech Center HI. The person I spoke to told me the repair would be 528 ish worst case so naturally I decided to go with them. We paid the Nissan dealer 150 for doing the diagnostic test, and paid to have the car towed to the Hi-tech center and although it was a hassle, we figured we would still come out saving a few hundred dollars. I was told that Saturday was all full but they would get us in first appointment on Sunday morning. Sunday morning came and I gave it a little time, around 10am, I called to see if my vehicle had been worked on yet but I got no answer. I called a few more times periodically and got no answer. Finally, we decided to go down there and found that our car had not been worked on yet. We had parked on the auto skills side, not knowing there was a difference which I guess is why, even though when I made the appointment I let them know that I would have the car towed to their location, and gave them the make, model, year of the car, and the VIN number. The car had a boot on it when we arrived around 11:45 Sunday. Initially, we thought maybe the car had been fixed and they put the boot on to ensure we didn't drive off without paying. We opened the back seat passenger door to gain entry, as it was the only door unlocked because the remote key did not work with the alternator being out, at that point we had figured it had not been fixed or else the remote would have worked again. No worries though went inside and learned the car had been booted and not fixed because no one from either side claimed to have any knowledge of what the vehicle was doing there despite all the information I had given them about the vehicle when making the appointment. Anyway, we got checked in and went on our way. A few hours later we got a call to let us know that we had been misquoted and that the cost should have actually been, I think 777 ish. While this is still less than Nissan, there is no way we would have paid Nissan, and paid for towing if we had been given the correct cost because At that point it would have been more than the Nissan charge with all that we had done, plus we would have had our vehicle fixed that day. I explained this they said she would try to work something out and they got it down to around 650ish, I don't have the exact number but either way, I agreed but I still did not think it was fair. They let me know there was no way the car would be finished that day, Sunday, and that they were closed on Monday and Tuesday so that it would not be completed until Wednesday! At this point we are kicking ourselves for trying to save a few hundred dollars. Wednesday comes, the car is ready for pick up. My husband gathers all of his things from my car to transport to his car he notices there are some holes in his back seat. He brings it to the shop's attention and they suggest that maybe some type of rodent had gotten in the vehicle and ate through the seats. Well in order for that to have happened, someone from the shop would have left the door or window open for something to get in. The guy we spoke to, Joe, admitted that they do leave windows down and explained the reasoning behind it but insisted that nothing like this had ever happened and that he didn't feel he was responsible for what an animal does. The repair for the seats can be covered after our $1000 deductible. Less than a month later 10/17, the car had issues again, we had it towed to Nissan this time and we were told that the alternator had been put in wrong and caused some wires or something to melt. Instead of going back to let the tech center know, we went ahead and had Nissan replace it, the right way. They tried to work with us on the price after all we've been through but still another $900. There's a lot more that could be said but bottom line is, trying to save a few hundred dollars cost us $3000 in the end.
